Sweden days in Valmiera to be opened this Sunday

The Ambassador of Sweden to Latvia, H.E. Mr Henrik Landerholm is happy to visit Valmiera again, this time to open the Swedish Days. The agenda is full of meetings and visits. Among other things, the ambassador will talk to 120 youngsters from the Baltic States, Ukraine and Belarus who will take part in a UN simulation game.

- One thing that I really like about the Sweden days is the possibility to see the diversity of Latvian cities and its residents and traditions. Actually, last time I visited Valmiera, I was reminded of the Swedish student cities of Uppsala and Lund, says ambassador Landerholm.

- I am looking very much forward to meeting the youth who will take part in the UN simulation game. You always learn things from young people – and who knows, maybe they will have something to teach me about diplomacy! the ambassador says.

It will gather around 120 youngsters who during the weekend will take part in the UNESCO Latvia organized the United Nations simulation game “Strong Youth – Peacful tomorrow.”
