Joint  SCCL, AmCham and NCCL Tourism working group calls for increased cooperation in setting the strategy for Latvia’s tourism development

The extract from the joint letter to the Minister of Economics:

" The Swedish, American and Norwegian Chambers of Commerce in Latvia would like to express their appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Economics and Latvian Tourism development Agency to create a new strategy for Latvia’s tourism development. We believe that it is crucial to set a clear course for increasing and using the full Latvia’s tourism potential.

However, we would like to draw your attention to the absence of a close cooperation with the tourism industry on both creating the strategy and the new branding of Latvia. We believe such cooperation is critical to tackle the problems the industry faces effectively and to achieve the common goals with less resource.

To discuss these issues and to look for possible solutions, on August 29 the Tourism Working Groups of Swedish, American and Norwegian Chambers of Commerce in Latvia came together to form a cooperation. The biggest players in the industry discussed the most topical issues, priorities and action plan for the work ahead.

On behalf of the of members of Swedish, American and Norwegian Chambers of Commerce in Latvia, we call upon the Ministry to organize a joint meeting with the industry representatives to discuss Latvia’s tourism strategy project as well as the progress of the new country branding initiative..."
