PAN-BALTIC MACRO OUTLOOK 2022

PAN-BALTIC MACRO OUTLOOK 2022
Welcome to our annual #PanBalticMacroOutlook to be held on THU, 10 FEB at 15:00 (Riga time) and receive detailed analyses of the economy and forecast for 2022, delivered by Chief economists of SEB.

Meet one of the speakers Dainis Gašpuitis, SEB Latvia who remarks the following:
“In 2022, we will still recover from Covid-19. Albeit, recuperation will be hindered by growing inflation, rapid spread of the virus as well as various geopolitical risks. Central banks around the world are accelerating the normalization of interest rates and the aspirations of the US Federal Reserve to offload a part of its balance sheet is already sending alarming signals to the stock and fixed income markets. Growing tension between Russia and the neighboring European countries is a growing risk factor, particularly for the Baltics as well as countries in Northern Europe. However, economic growth continues to be fueled by significant household savings and deferred consumption, as well as export and capital expenditures. It is expected that inflation will peak at the beginning of the year. As a result, our growth forecast for 2022 remains relatively stable.”
